Everyone in my class keeps telling me i'm an 'artist' because i draw little pictures everywhere all the time. It makes me smile because i'm a horrible drawer but to them i'm picasso.

i'm trying to figure out if i can start applying for casual teaching numbers with either the DET or the CEO. I'm a 4th year student who is doing my 3rd year prac, so i'll have all my classes done by the end of summer school.
I think i can apply for CEO not DET.
It's all so confusing!

I taught a lesson on contractions today and everyone had so much fun. Students were literally calling out saying 'this is so much fun miss daly!' It made me feel really good.

We sang a song to the tune of the hokey pokey:

You pop some letters out!

To put apostrophes in!

You pop some letters out!

Thats's the way you must begin.

Do do contraction action is as easy as can be!

Come on and dance with me! Oh, yeah!

We then made paper contractions:

I feel like this was a really great lesson. The only thing i would have changed is when modelling some examples on the board, i should have mentioned you can pop more then one letter out. Some students got confused when they came to words like they had = they'd

I thought there would be a lot more talk in the staff room about what will be happening with education in the future due to the election on the weekend.

I guess, people don't talk politics at work. Touchy, touchy subject.

I've been having a lot of moments lately where it just hits me and i have a moment of clarity and i'm like
'this is exactly what i want to be doing for the rest of my life'

I did my first running record today (on an actual student).

It was fun and i learnt a lot.
It was great.

Today we has an incident with one of our students for biting.

Apparently at lunch, he bit two boys.


I really think we need to sit the class down and go over school rules, class rules and just basic human rules haha.
It's getting out of hand.
